User Experience is most important
I recently asked on social media:
What is the worst tech tool or process you ever used?
The specific tools mentioned did not surprise me. What surprised me is that ALL of the feedback was about the user experience or the complexity of using the tool.
It wasn’t about the cost.
It wasn’t about the tech stack.
No one complained about where it was hosted.
No one mentioned Rust, Kubernetes, AI or other de rigueur tech.
It was broken expectations. It was complexity which allows you to shoot yourself in the foot.
It was the lack of safety. Of clear messaging.
It was the lack of trust.
What can you do today to fix one of the things your users actually care about?
